First read the chapter or verses from the reading list. Watch for things that “jump out” as you read. Perhaps is has a special interest to you or it just feels like something God is talking to you about. After you are done reading, write down or paraphrase the scripture that was distinctive to you.
Observation
Next, after you have written your scripture, write down an observation. This is as simple as “Jesus is talking here…” or “Paul is telling the Corinthian church that…” or “this was spoken directly to a child,” etc.
Application
Now, write a small paragraph about how this scripture/story applies to your life.
Prayer
Finally, write a prayer regarding the scripture and how it has affected you.
